Advocacy is an important step in the no kill model. Being an advocate for homeless and adoptable animals means speaking out against unnecessary and cruel shelter practices. It's providing a voice for those who have none. It's presenting the public with facts. It's standing up and making change happen.

And it can all start with YOU.

- Staying Informed on YOUR Shelter

Louisville Metro Animal Services is a public shelter, meaning YOU pay them to function with your tax dollars. If you are concerned about what's going on at LMAS, you are now able to easily view their "Outcome" data online.

Be An Animal Advocate for Kentucky!

The Humane Society of the United States, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Kentucky Animal Welfare Alliance invite our members, supporters, and other animal advocates to participate in the 2013 Humane Lobby Day -- Kentucky in Frankfort to help make a tremendous difference for animals.

This is an exciting opportunity to meet with elected officials and their staff about legislation that will significantly impact animals. There will be a briefing with tips for lobbying, and an overview of pending animal legislation which will prepare you to meet elected officials and advocate for animals. Following these meetings, there will be press conference and rally in the adjoining Capitol Rotunda beginning at 1 p.m.

Legislators are most motivated when their constituents make time to meet with them face to face. By attending Lobby Day 2013, you can be instrumental in helping to upgrade Kentucky's cruelty statutes, stop the abuse of Tennessee Walking horses, advance meaningful farm animal care standards, crack down on animal fighting, support spay/neuter programs, and more. RSVP today to lend your voice for animals and make a difference in Kentucky! Contact Kentucky State Director Pamela Rogers if you have additional questions.

Date: February 24th 2015

Time: 9 am to 1:30 pm EST

Address: 702 Capitol Avenue and Capitol Rotunda, Frankfort, KY 40601

If you'd like to attend this event you can RSVP online.

After you RSVP--please follow No Kill Louisville's Facebook page, so you can stay updated on when we're leaving and what we'll be doing! We need to make sure our presence is known!
